Late Marathon World Record holder Kelvin Kiptum’s wife, Asenath Rotich, has delivered a Heart-wrenching tribute to her husband
Amidst tears, the mother of two shared the depth of their love during the memorial service at Chepkorio showgrounds in Keiyo South, where she revealed they were due to marry in April 2024.
“We have been planning for a big day to tie our knots in a colourful wedding ceremony in April 2024, but God’s plans are greater. I will still make my vows of love even in your rest,”
“My dear love, I can’t learn how to say goodbye to you with weak fingers and pain in my heart. It’s unbelievable that today I’ve learned to stay with our beloved kids without you coming home again,” Rotich tearfully read her tribute
Asenath’s tribute went beyond mourning; it was a declaration of enduring love and commitment.
“I promise to gather my strength for the sake of our children,” she vowed, showcasing a declaration of being the pillar of strength to the kids .

President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua joined the family and other mourners to pay their last respects to the fallen athlete.
Kiptum, 24, died suddenly following a car crash along the Eldoret Kaptagat road on February 11

Ruto Promises State Job

President William Ruto has promised to secure a job for the World Marathon record holder Kelvin Kiptum’s wife, Asenath Rotich.
This comes after different leaders pleaded with the Head of state to look into the wellbeing of the family left behind.
Kiptum is survived by a widow and two children.
Speaking on Friday during the burial ceremony, the President said that he would discuss with Elgeyo Marakwet governor Wesley Rotich to find a spot for Kiptum’s wife.
