The clerk while rejecting the petition is said to have said the removal from office of the Inspector General is a preserve of the President.
On August 1, the clerk wrote to the lobby refusing to admit the said Petition for consideration before the floor of the Assembly.

Ogola however described the reason as skewed, arguing that the IG is liable to the procedures for the removal of members of constitutional commissions.
“Ergo, in the foregoing, unless the instant petition filed herewith is certified as urgent and orders sought granted and allowed as prayed, the constitution will continue to be infracted with no constitutional redress,” he said.
He prayed that the court certifies the petition as urgent, hears it during the High Court recess and grants the orders sought.
