Former Nairobi County Deputy Governor Polycarp Igathe has revealed that business mogul Chris Kirubi was the brains behind his alliance between him and former governor Mike Sonko.
Igathe says that Kirubi’s intention was to make Nairobi a business friendly environment.
“He is the one who designed the ticket,” Igathe said during the funeral mass of Kirubi held in Karen
Igathe also added that Kirubi regretted that things did not work between him and Sonko.
Igathe resigned in January 2018, less than a year after the elections.
ODM Leader Raila Odinga also described Kirubi as a man who loved Kenya.
According to Raila, Kirubi played a key role in trying to get him to talk with retired President Mwai Kibaki after the disputed 2007 General Elections.
Other leaders mourned Kirubi as an astute businessman who acquired all his wealth in the right way.
Kirubi will be laid to rest tomorrow at his farm in Thika.
