Investigations launched after two boys die in botched circumcision
Detectives have launched investigations into the death of two young boys who died after a botched circumcision in Rumuruti, Laikipia County.
The two boys reportedly caught an infection in the hands of a caregiver.
According to the police, one of the boys who died was hurriedly burried by a care giver Sitienei Kibiomet.
The two boys were among the 25 young men who underwent the rite of passage on December 15, 2020.
The caregiver had apparently taken over the care of the boys after the circumcision was performed by a Clinical Officer.
The father of one of the initiates who died has already been arrested and is in police custody.
