Jacque Maribe to remain in custody for 10 more days


TV Journalist Jacque Maribe will spend 10 more days in police cells.

This is to allow investigators continue with investigations into the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.

Maribe will be held at the Kilimani Police Station with instructions that she be protected from harassment.

Her lawyer Katwa Kigen had complained that Maribe was being harassed, cajoled and intimidated by the police.

Maribe was arrested on Saturday after several interrogations by the Police.

It is reported that the police recovered a live bullet under her bed and burnt clothes behind her house.

“Am convinced that compelling reasons do exist to warrant retention in custody. So in the interest of justice I have granted prosecution 10 days to detain the suspect at Gigiri Police Station,” the Magistrate said. .

Her fiancé Joseph Kuria Irungu was arrested and is also being detained in relation to the murder of Monica Kimani.

Police also seized Maribe’s Toyota Allion that was used by her fiancee when he visited Ms Kimani.
