Buffing Football team yesterday proceeded to the semi finals of the ongoing  Jua Kali Garage tournament taking place at the Umeme Grounds in Nairobi’s Ziwani area.

Buffing proceeded to the semis after beating Highway FC in the penalty round of the quarter final match that ended in a 2-2 draw.

Buffing FC will now face Engineer FC while Ogopa will play against Yunido in the semi finals.

This is the second time the Jua Kali Garage Tournament is being held with nine teams participating in the Tournament representing nine garages in the competition.

Speaking to Ghetto sports chairman of Jua Kali garage tournament Samuel Moi says the main reason for the tournament is to promote talent among garage workers who fall idle and engage in alcohol abuse after they complete their work.

“The tournament is usually played on Monday to ensure no garage worker will engage in alcohol abuse in the weekend because they will know there is a game on Monday.” he says.

“The tournament has no real sponsorship we rely on the contribution of the garage teams to run the tournament ,” says Samuel aka Kawaya.

Crown Paints  Kenya, the leading Auto Mobile Paints in Kenya has however recognized the tournament and pledged to support it.

Crown Paints Sales Manager Moses Kimenai says that the company is seeking to promote and partner with those using their products.
