Pioneer Genge star Paul Nunda popularly known as Juacali led Kenya in award haul at the just concluded East Africa Entertainment Awards by bagging the Lifetime Achievement Award. Other Kenyans who also won awards are Trey Juelz(Best Breakthrough Music Video Director) and Claudia Naisabwa(Media Personality Of The Year).

Rapper Octopizzo was also feted with the Outstanding Community Service Award thanks to his foundation, The Octopizzo Foundation. He also got a special recognition for his contribution in Hip hop through the single, Wapi Compe.

Taking to his social media networks, the Bidii Yangu rapper shared his gratitude for the win while acknowledging his 24 year stint in music.

He dedicated the award to his family, fans, his producer, Clemo not forgetting all the artists who’ve worked at Calif Records.

“I dedicate this award to everyone who has been in my 24 years musical journey Beat Ya Clemo, his family, family yangu, Mtaa ya Calif, Artists wote tulibuild nao Calif records” he wrote partly.

Rayvanny Overall Winner With 5 Awards

The overall winner of the night was Rayvanny who scooped 5 awards.

  • Best Male Artist(East Africa).
  • Best Studio Album/EP(East Africa).
  • Best Songwriter/Lyricist(East Africa).
  • Best Lovers Choice Singles(East Africa).
  • Best Inspirational Single(East Africa).

Diamond was another toast of the night by bagging the Overall Hit Maker Artist Of The Year with the hits Shui, Achi, My Baby and Enjoy.

The Wasafi boss further bagged Collaboration Of The Year Award with the song ‘Enjoy’ a collaborative piece with Jux. In addition, Diamond’s stable, WCB Wasafi emerged the Record Label Of The Year.

Also not left behind was Konde Gang president, Harmonize who walked away with the Overall Hit-Single Of The Year for the song ‘Single Again’.

Other awards which went to Tanzanians were;

  • Best Alternative Urban Fusion Single- Mataa by Akil The Brain, Papati and Lunar Miguel.
  • Sound Engineer Of Excellence(East Africa)- Lizer Classic.
  • Overall Hitmaker Producer Of The Year-S2kizzy(Zombie).
  • Best Breakthrough Act- DJ Gibbzy.
  • Best Breakthrough Beat/Hit-Maker Producer- Mr. LG(He produced Honey by Zuchu).

Rwandans also triumphed at the award gala by bagging;

  • Best Music Studio(East Africa)- Country Records.
  • Best Culture Music(East Africa)- Marchal Ujeku(Ntakazimba).
  • Audio Producer Of Excellence- Kozze.
