It is now official that Charles Thuo of Dandora three ward is the new majority leader in the Nairobi county assembly .
This follows a letter from Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju to the assembly speaker Beatrice Elachi.
‘‘It is unfortunate that some of the conflicting MCAs precipitated to a chaotic situation in the assembly before we could resolve it. In order to bring clarity on the issue of leadership in the house we have decided to respect the list brought to us by June Ndegwa…’’ Tuju said in the letter.
According to the letter Charles Thuo will be deputised by Ziwani MCA Millicent Mugadi ,Majority chief whip is June Ndegwa deputised by Carlifonia MCA Hassan Abdikadir.
The new leadership has been endorsed by the assembly this afternoon.
Meanwhile former majority leader Abdi Guyo was today morning whisked away by police and was forced to record a statement at Kileleshwa police station over chaos that erupted yesterday at the assembly.
