Jubilee Nominations in Kahawa Wendani Ward Fail To Take Off

Jubilee Party Nominations for the Kahawa Wendani ward seat in Kiambu County today failed to take off despite candidates and voters showing up for the nominations.

Some participants who had showed up for the nominations expressed their displeasure saying the postponement of the nomination exercise was not communicated on time.

“I was the first person to reach here at exactly 4 am. When i got here i saw no signs of voting… I tried to inquire from mheshimiwa but i got no proper response,” said an agent of one of the candidates.

Some of the candidates expressed fear that the party was planning to give a direct ticket to a specific candidate.

Earlier on today, there were demonstrations in Kahawa Wendani with a section of the residents protesting against the move.

“We have hear reports that Raphael Tuju and James Orengo held meetings with some candidates at night, we shall not accept to have an imposed candidate, let the people of Kahwa Wendani decide,” said the resident.

So far the Jubilee nomination has attracted at least 11 candidates who are gunning for the seat.
