Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed almost got in trouble with residents of Likoni, Mombasa County over his remarks about the COVID-19 vaccine.

Junet, who accompanied ODM leader Raila Odinga in his six-days tour in the coast region to drum up support for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), was addressing the crowd in Mombasa and chose to talk about the vaccine.

In his remarks, Junet suggested that poor people be given first priority when it came to administering the jab, and not politicians.

“The COVID-19 vaccine came; I want to tell the Jubilee government to start the vaccination from the poor communities. Let them not start with themselves, cabinet secretaries or MPs. They should first administer it to the needy,” said Junet.

However, the crowd was against this some shouting that the vaccination to start with the politicians with others, like many Kenyans, saying they did not want the vaccine.

The six-day coast tour culminates today.
