The Kenya National U17 girls’ team, Junior Starlets, had a feel of the Abebe Bekila Stadium ahead of their 2024 FIFA U17 World Cup first-leg qualifier against Ethiopia on Friday, May 10, 2024.
The squad of 23 is set and ready for the match, as reiterated by Junior Starlets’ head coach Mildred Cheche.
“We have trained, and I believe we are ready to play against Ethiopia tomorrow, aiming for a positive result here in Ethiopia.”
Captain Elizabeth Ochaka further echoed the coach’s sentiments, emphasizing the team’s readiness to give their all on the pitch and hopefully return with the three points.
The winner of this matchup will progress to the fourth and final round, facing either Djibouti or Burundi for the chance to represent Cecafa at the 2024 Under-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic.
The match is scheduled for Friday, May 10, 2024, at the Abebe Bekila Stadium, starting at 3 pm EAT.
