Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata has been forced to come out and explain a video of him that has emerged on Social Media showing him running in Murang’a.

The Senator who was with the Deputy President William Ruto in Murang’a on Sunday says he was forced to abndon his car and run to meet Ruto at Gatura AIPCA Church.

Kang’ata says that he ran after his car was blocked by vehicles that were already at the church.

“Ignore the propaganda… I came to DP’s function very late . Found the entrance blocked by vehicles. I alighted and run past the blocking vehicles towards the church as the speeches were almost done,” said Kang’ata.

The senator had recently ditched President Uhuru’s camp and joined the Tangatanga outfit led by DP Ruto.

Netizens had already started trolling Kang’ata claiming that he was being chased by goons.

“MURANG’A FOLKS must learn to be tolerant to leaders; there’s no reason whatsoever to chase my Class-mate @HonKangata while on a normal meet-the-people tour. Tuvumiliane tafadhal!” tweeted @silasjakakimba.
