Jubilee Party has kicked out Irungu Kangata as senate majority whip replacing him with Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi.
According Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju, Kangata used the wrong channel to communicate to the president about the popularity of Building Bridges Initiative in mount Kenya region.
He further accused Kangata of undermining the party by refusing to apologise when he was called upon to apologise and instead chose to discuss in-house matters in the media.
‘‘It’s not about the letter that he wrote to statehouse about the BBI but the way in which he did it. It was a question on decorum, we had a meeting in which we invited him he refused…we also had another meeting where what was discussed with him in a closed door meeting in the most unfortunate way he decided to discuss the same outside in the media,’’ Tuju told journalists.
Meanwhile Kangata has accepted his ouster saying he is ready to deal with his accusers head on moving forward and that the truth will soon be known.
‘‘All senators that have spoken in the parliamentary group meeting have supported me no single senator talked negatively on my leadership. I will be gracious and remain a person who respects everyone.
The Bible also tells us Shadrack Meshack and Abdnego were thrown in the fire but they never got burnt,” Kangata said.
