A section of residents of Umoja 3 Kwa Maji area in Nairobi have expressed concern over the safety of their school going children while crossing Kangundo Road.
The residents claim that the road has become very busy with reckless motorists, putting the lives of their children at risk.
Speaking to Ghetto radio news the residents say that to access the public schools in the area the school children have to cross the road.
The claim that not a day passes by without any accident from happening on the road.
“The reckless drivers are driving without a care of the road and traffic rules, this has in turn endangered our children,” said one resident.
“This road is very dangerous, i have a child who goes to school in Kayole and since the schools are opening very soon, we do not even know what we will do,” said another one.
The are now appealing to the relevant authorities to build a flyover to help them cross the road safely.
“We are calling on our area MCA and MP to kindly help us push for the construction of a footbridge to help avert this looming crisis,” the residents cried.
