Kawangware Residents Table Demands To Politicians Seeking Elective Posts

Kawangware residents now want aspiring politicians to address the biting water and sanitation issues first once elected.

The residents during a town hall meeting stated that the women trek for long distances in search of water following the shortage.

Janet Bundi a resident of the area states that the water shortage has affected the entire Kawangware which is covered in both Dagoretti North and South Constituencies.

“The problem we have are similar in both north and south, women treck long distance to fetch water ,the water supply is not reliable, leaders must make the water agenda urgent priority,” stated Janet.

The electorates also want the overpopulated public schools to be decongested by ensuring the construction of new schools.

With a population of over 50,000 children Dagoretti South Constituency has only eight public schools and only one special school.

Kawangware Primary School is one of the overpopulated schools in the area. Calls for decongesting it have been rife since the overpopulation has made it difficult to monitor children’s performances and also instill discipline.

Youth empowerment and job creation are also some of the calls made to the leaders.

 “The leaders to be elected in August must make sport talent a viable venture to make youths earn from the talents, the sporting facilities must be improved to match the requirements of the

regulators thus setting a levels grounds for participants,”Anguche a local football coach said.
