Matatu operators in Kayole went on strike on Monday morning to protest poor state of roads.

The operators claim that the roads they are plying are making their jobs difficult due to their poor state.

Residents were forced to walk long kilometers in order to find alternative means of getting to their destinations.

The operators had warned of their planned strike since last week.

They want the government to urgently repair the roads to enable them operate freely.

The matatus on the route have parked at various petrol stations and parking lots in protest.
