KCB Recruits 6; Aims for Rampant Best

KCB women volleyball team will take the trip to Nyeri for the National league kick off fixture on a serious note as it is aimed to create a bond into the team that will see the bankers grab major victories this year.

Team Head Coach John Khayinga admits the new signings are up to task in steering the club to the next level.

The squad that has been in training camp preparing for the new season and  will see the inclusion of new signings Joyce Njeri, Lucy Sakon’g, DorcasChepleting, Sally Wanjala and Shalin Maiwa in the final squad during the Nyeri visit.

“New players have fitted very well in the squad and they are energized and looking forward to grabbing our first victory this season”, said Khayinga.

Joyce Njeri who joins KCB from Lugulu Girls believes she will take the team a notch higher in their campaign of retaining the side’s lost glory.

“It was always my dream and I will give my best to KCB this season, we will be a force to reckon with”, said Joyce.

KCB will play at Kamukunji Grounds in Nyeri on March 1-3 before the second leg at Ndakaini Dam in Thika.The side finished 3rd last after play offs.

The bankers will have Helen Chemutai and Linnet Mukambi as the liberoes this season. Middle blockers include Dorcas Chepleting, Siwa Christine and Modesta Chepchirchir.

Felly Wanjala, Gladys Wairimu and Farida Efumbi will stand in as setters. KCB has signed Prisons Elishiba Chepkemboi and felly Wanjala. Meanwhile,the squad will rely on the impressive left attacker Doreen Marani.

KCB defeated Pipeline 3-0 during a league match and Eldama Ravine last season and will be aiming to repeat the same against Prisons when they meet later this year.
