
Kenya Commercial Bank Women volleyball team has arrived in Nyeri County ahead of their tomorrow’s league oppener against Mount Kenya University(MKU) at Kamukunji grounds.
Speaking today during a training session at Kamukunji training grounds , the side’s head coach Vernon Khayinga says the squad is psyched up for tomorrow’s match hoping for a win.
“The morale at the camp is very high, we are looking forward to a great game tomorrow and we will give our very best in the outing because we have been training hard, preparing for this,” said Khayinga.
Khayinga also expressed optimism saying he is expecting much from his team
The bankers come to this season heads high trying to get back to their former dominant days where they were the volleyball giants in the nation.
They have reportedly been in thorough preparations targeting to reclaim their superiority.
KCB made a number of new signings with the main goal of strengthening the squad following the new coming campaign.Sharleen Maiwa and Lucy Sakon’g are some of the new faces inluded in the squad.
Vernon has named the squad for tomorrows mouth-watering battle against the University side.Team Captain Maiyo Eunice will lead the squad against the university side in the early tie starting 9am.
Gladys Wairimu and Farida Efumbi will play as the setters, while middle blockers comprises of Christine Siwa, Modesta Chepchirchir and Pauline Nyongesa.
The main attacking front will see Milgreen Lutuvula, Elishiba Chepkemoi and Doreen Marani take the responsibilities.
Newly signed Sharleen Maiwa and Lucy Sakon’g will be the right attackers in the outing with the assistance of experienced Linnet Mukambi playing the Libero.
Kenya Commercial Bank will face other teams during the tournament that starts on Saturday- Sunday at the same venue.
