A KCPE candidate was on Thursday rescued from an early marriage in Nairobi’s Kiamaiko area.

The 14 year old girl candidate from Ndururuno Primary School has allegedly been living with the husband while writing her exams.

Ndururuno Primary School head teacher Nancy Muturi says the girl had been married off to a butcher in the area.

Muturi says that they first suspected that the girl had been married off when she first came to school with hena decorations on her body.

“I saw the hena flowers on her body when she came to school, i even talked to her friends who told me that she was telling them that she was living with the husband,” said Mutuiri.

Muturi says she then engaged the help of area activist Fatma Mohamed who followed up the incident and discovered that the girl was actually married.

“We waited for her to finish her exams then engaged the police at Huruma Police Station to help with the situation,” narrated Fatama.

Fatma says that the husband is yet to be arrested.
