KCPE candidate threatens to take his own life after missing out on secondary school scholarship
A student from Mukuru slums has threatened to commit suicide for failure to secure fees for his secondary education.
Speaking to Ghetto Radio on phone Nuria Ali from Mukuru slums said the student who scored 355 marks in last year National Examination has threatened to commit suicide after failing to secure sponsorship to continue with his education.
The student is said to have visited many potential academic sponsor but has not been fortunate enough to get any positive feedback.
The student only identified as Maxwell, received a letter to join Highway High School in South B but may fail to join the school because his mother cannot be able to facilitate his tuition fees.
“We have counselled Maxwell which has helped him avoid his plan saying that if he is offered a scholarship he is willing to continue with his education and he’s now calling on well wishers to come to his aid.” Said Nuria
