Unconfirmed reports allege that Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Francis Ogolla has been involved in a Chopper crash this afternoon.
Ogolla’s chopper crashed in Cheptulel West Pokot.
It is alleged that CDF Ogolla was with other senior military officers when the chopper caught fire in Cheptulel area of West Pokot County.
Allegedly 9 people were on board.
Ogolla was appointed in April 2023 by President William Ruto.
He took over from Gen Robert Kibochi whose term ended.
Gen. Ogolla was previously the Commander of the Air Force and Vice Chief of Defence Forces.

Meanwhile an official communication regarding this crash is about to be issued.
This is according to government spokesman Isaac Mwaura.
He has called on Kenyans to stay calm and avoid any speculation with regards to this crash.
National Security Council Meeting
In the meantime President William Ruto has convened an urgent meeting of the National Security Council at statehouse Nairobi.
This is according to Statehouse spokesperson Hussein Mohamed.
This follows a KDF helicopter crash this afternoon in Elgeyo Marakwet.
