Most Businesses Nairobi Central Business District on Thursday remain closed as Kenya Defence Forces officials patrolled the capital.
Despite calls by the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua pleading with protestors to call off today’s planned demos, protestors continue marching across various towns.
Protestors Cheer KDF
For the better part of Thursday morning Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officers were patrolling Moi Avenue in Nairobi ahead of the planned demos on June 27, 2024.
A section of protestors were earlier seen cheering the KDF officers as their convoy snaked through the capital.
This comes after Members of Parliament on Wednesday morning approved the deployment of Kenya Defence Forces officers within the country to restore order after deadly protests

Protestors Arrested

Police officers have also taken the role of clearing roads that had been barricaded
A section of media personalities have cited harassment from the Police.

Protests In Migori
Meanwhile six people including two police officers have been injured during the ongoing anti-government protest in Migori town, Migori County.
Four protesters are nursing gunshot wounds while the two officers sustained minor injuries after rocks being pelted by protesters hit them.
Migori County Director for Medical Services Dr.Dan Ochiel said two of the protesters sustained serious injuries and are undergoing treatment at Migori referral hospital
The High Court certified as urgent a petition filed by Law Society of Kenya (LSK) seeking to block the deployment of the military to assist the police in quelling protests.
In a gazette notice on June 25, Defence CS Aden Duale deployed the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) to support the police in responding to security threats allegedly posed by protesters.
Justice Lawrence Mugambi directed the LSK to serve the court papers on the Attorney General Justin Muturi, Mr Duale and other respondents forthwith, for the case to be heard Today (June 27).
