The latest world rugby rankings have seen Kenya Simbas move a spot up from position 24th to 23rd. The improvement has been registered courtesy of 59.28 points that Simba’s have.
Spain too moves up from 21 to 18. The biggest losers in the latest rankings are Russia, Italy, Czech Republic and Namibia as they all fall down a place to settle at 15, 33 and 19 respectively.
Germany on the other hand registered a slight drop from position 22nd to 24th .Canada utilized the fall of Germany to move up to position 22nd as Wales also registers a slight improvement moving from 7th -6th surpassing South Africa.
New Zealand, England, Australia, Ireland and Scotland remain the top five nations in the world of rugby.
Kenya Simbas will play a test match against Germany on Saturday May 27, 2017 in Nairobi according to a statement from Kenya Rugby Union .This match will be played two weeks before their Elgon Cup first leg fixture away to Uganda scheduled on Saturday 10 June.
These fixtures will also be used to set the tone for the Simbas Rugby Africa Gold Cup campaign. Kenya starts the campaign with successive home fixtures against Uganda ( 24 June),Tunisia (8 July) and Senegal (15 July) before playing away to Zimbabwe (22 July) and Namibia (29 July).
Simbas will also play host Hong Kong in a two match test series in Nairobi. The first leg takes place on Saturday 19 August with the second leg taking place on Saturday 26 August.
