Kenya Airways underfire from Kenyans On Twitter
Kenyans on twitter #KOT have expressed their rage on twitter asking why the Kenya Sevens team on their return to Kenya from the Singapore Sevens boarded a Qatar Airways plane instead of their main sponsor’s, Kenya Airways.
Political blogger Robert Alai was amongst the first to tweet saying “KQ sponsors #Kenya7s but the team will be arriving in Qatar Airways because KQ is in deep shit. #KaribuShujaa
However Kenya Airways following the uproar had to reply citing it was an airline agreement. They tweeted;
Hi @Muhahami, we can never be too busy for our boys. we gave then a convenient connection via airline to airline agreement^EN
Speaking at Ole Sereni Hotel where the sevens team was hosted, Kenya Airways CEO Mbuvi Ngunze stated that “Qatar Airways was the official carrier for the Hong Kong and Singapore legs of the HSBC Sevens series”.
In addition Kenya Airways moved to their twitter account to explain the puzzling scenario stating: “We can never be too busy for our boys. We gave them a convenient connection via airline to airline agreement
