Kenya Confirms 11 new COVID-19 cases, total now at 208
Kenya has confirmed 11 more cases of the new coronavirus bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 208.
Speaking during the daily briefing, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said that the new cases ranges between one and 42 year old.
The 11 are part of the 674 samples tested in the last 24 hours and are all Kenyans. Four of the new cases have a history of travel to the United Arab Emirates and have been in the mandatory quarantine centres.
Seven of the cases were picked by the Ministry of Health surveillance team and have since been moved into the government isolation centres.
The new cases are spread as follows Nairobi-2, Mandera-4, Mombasa-3, Nakuru 1 and Machakos 1.
The CS also announced that a total of 14 patients have been discharged from hospital after recovering from the coronavirus bringing the total number of recoveries to 40.
The CS further added that the country has recorded one more death from the novel COVID-19
