Kenya Power yet to fix broken electric poles at City Stadium two weeks later

A section of Nairobi residents living near the Nairobi City Stadium are lamenting a power outage that has lasted in the area for more than one week.

The residents claim that the power outage that happened after two electric poles fell down has affected their businesses and has plunged them into losses.

Speaking to Ghetto Radio News, they claim that the power outage has also affected security in the area with many of them losing their personal property to thugs.

“I am a resident here and a business person in this area. I am in the food business and my machines have been grounded because of the power outage.  Now for the past one week we have not been in business, Kenya Power has taken no action, the power cables are just down on the ground with no one attending to the,” said Joseph Murunga one of the businessmen.

They claim that the lose cables are a danger to the lives of many people living and working in the area.

“We are afraid because mixed with the rains, the live wire might shock one of us here,” said Murunga.
