Kenya Rugby Union suspends Safari Sevens

The Kenya Rugby Union has announced the postponement of the 25th edition of the Safari Sevens originally set for 14th -16th October 2022 at the RFUEA Ground.

According to the Union the postponement was occasioned by unavoidable circumstances saying that the new tournament date will be announced in a future communication.

The Kenya Rugby Union has today confirmed the postponement of the 25th edition of the Safari Sevens originally set for 14th -16th October 2022 at the RFUEA Ground.

“The decision to postpone the event has been occasioned by unavoidable circumstances.

We take this opportunity to thank our loyal fans and partners for your continued support. A new tournament date will be announced in a future communication,’ the statement read.

Twelve teams were scheduled to play in the tournament that was set to return to its original home, the RFUEA Grounds, after being staged at the Nyayo National Stadium last year following a two year absence because of COVID-19 pandemic.

Kenya was to be represented by three teams among them Defending Champions Shujaa , Morans, and Kenya Cup winners Menengai Oilers.
