Kenyan Student develops App that enables people to chat without airtime or bundles

A student at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) has gone a notch higher and developed a Bluetooth App that enables one to chat and send messages without incurring any charges.

Rodgers Wambua who invented the app called ‘Bluetooth Chat’ says many students at the university have embraced the new technology.

“You just have to turn your blue tooth and make your phone discoverable with the other person, to chat with the other person when you have the App,” he said.

Majority of the students testified that they are now saving money they used to spend on airtime in a bid to buy bundles for chatting to buy food and other personal effects.

Mr Wambua is a third year student taking a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology.

Wambua revealed you can chat with your friends using the app when you have an Android powered smartphone that is installed with the app.
