Kenyans asked to reject BBI
BY ALLAN OTIENO
Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua has faulted President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga on their push for BBI saying it’s a manipulation of Kenyan citizens without solutions to their problem.
Speaking during the launch of Linda Katiba Movement Karua says that the document is for a few individuals calling on Kenyans to reject it.
“It has eroded and destroyed the constitution systematically. The problem is lack of implementation among those charged with the responsibility. Kenyans must reject the BBI,” Karua said.
Renowned economist David Ndii on the other hand slammed president Uhuru Kenyatta for using state resources to champion the Building Bridges Initiative saying it is not a state matter.
“Uhuru’s preoccupation now is how to stay in power, they started with handshake and now BBI… hidden agenda is to enhance themselves, we should not allow this to happen.” Ndii stated.
According to The Executive Director of the Community Advocacy and Awareness (CRAWN) Daisy Amdany the BBI proposal has nothing for women saying it will only make women to lose more than what has been achieved.
“The same people who said The Constitution 2010 was for women are the same people who are undermining the same constitution. We have been shouting on the two thirds gender rule they say it’s about women, it’is unfair and unpredictable ..The BBI has weakened the strength of women even in the Parliament,” Daisy added.
