A group of Kenyans from the diaspora has come up with a project to reward Kenyans in the grassroots making impacts and changing lives.
The group under the FAROVA development scheme says the initiative dubbed The Unsung Heroes is planning to randomly reward Kenyans undertaking different initiatives in changing lives.
“This is an idea that came from one of us Muirush who travels to Kenya a lot. So Muirush came to us and told us that there many Kenyans who are doing great things back at home and are not appreciated. So we decided to do something,” said Ben Airo a member of the FAROVA development Scheme.
Airo says they are planning to hold conduct the appreciation initiative at least three or four times in a year.
The first event of the initiative is set to happen in about two or three weeks time.
Airo says the group has already identified the person to reward and has kept the cards close to their chests since it is going to be a surprise.
“But what i would like to say is that these rewards are very random and will include even the least expected person in the society,” he said.
The reward includes a token of appreciation for the great job.
