Kenya’s first Female and Alpine Skier Sabrina at the Winter Olympic Games, Sabrina Wanjiku Simader will compete at the 2023 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Courchevel Tourisme and Meribel, France.

The ‘snow leopard’ who started skiing at the age of 3 in the snowy Alps of Austria will represent Kenya in two skiing events, among the world’s best in a total of 13 events.

Sabrina will compete Super-G on February 8th, 1.30pm and Downhill on February 11th 1.00pm EAT.

This is a qualification pathway offering the athletes important ranking points towards the Winter Olympic Games 2026, in which Sabrina has qualified twice, in 2018 and in 2022.

After missing out on the 2022 Winter Olympics, the 24-year-old will participate in her third Ski Championships after participating in 2017 where she participated in the Slalom, Giant Slalom and Super G events.

Sabrina enjoys good publicity and  is among the media’s favorites. Her African roots and her new homeland, represent a unique combination in international winter sport.

To add on, she won the price of the “African European Sports Woman of the year” in 2017 and 2019 she was pictured in the African Forbes “30 under 30”
