Form one students joining Kereri girls were forced with a clean shave before admission.

In a video that has been circulating on social media, students were seen lined up while a barber gave them a buzz cut.

The school had made an announcement during the admission process that it was mandatory for all students to have their hair shaved.

A periodic announcement is heard during the admission process that it was the school’s policy to have students shaved.

“Once again I welcome you to Kereri girls, those girls who are here for the registration process but have long hair, the school’s policy is that you must have your hair shaved. We have barbers at specific locations to take care of that,” the announcement sounded.

Meanwhile there were mixed reactions with section of parents condemning the school for the act while others gave it thumbs up.

“It was unnecessary to have them shave clean, the school should have just ensured the girls are kempt but not embarrassing them with a shameful save.’’ One of the parent lamented.

“Every school has rules and regulations and if that is one of the guidelines so be it,’’ Another parent commented.
