Jubilee’s Kevin Odhiambo garners 843 votes, wins Kahawa Wendani Ward seat

Kevin Odhiambo Ochieng of Jubilee Party has been elected Kahawa Wendani ward MCA in a by-election that was conducted yesterday.

Kevin who is also the brother to the deceased Cyrus Omondi popularly know us Gearbox garnered 843 votes to clinch the seat in an election that saw a very low voter turnout.

Omondi was followed closely by Bernard Kariuki of PEP who got 641 votes.

Kariuki was enjoying the support of Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria who traversed the ward campaigning for him.

In an interview with Ghetto Radio News he thanked Kahawa Wendani residents for electing him promising to finish what his late brother started.

‘‘I want to thank Jubilee Party and Kahawa Wendani residents for the support. As I promised during my campaigns my first task will be finishing constructions of our roads and ensuring that we improve our water system,’’ he said.

Kahawa Wendani Ward has more that 15,000 registered voters according to the IEBC register.
