Kenya Film Classification Board has now threatened to take legal action against betting firms that do not have restrictions to children who engage in betting and gambling.

In an interview with Ghetto Radio News KFCB Chief Executive Officer Ezekiel Mutua says companies are now providing betting services online platform that is mainly used by children between the age of 12-17 to bet contrary to betting regulations stated by the high court.

Mutua states that the move to have children bet and gamble has seen them commit suicide when they lose ,eat school fees and even steal from their parents.

He has however,  asked parents not to allow their children use phones with bundles as measure to restrain them accessing betting and gambling sites.

‘‘KFCB will be stern on media houses that air betting and gambling adverts during water-shed periods and before we do that lets all the media house be responsible.’’ He added.

Media who air betting adverts during water-shed periods have been also warned.
