Khaligraph Jones and Rudeboy finally drop Coke Studio’s  ‘TONIGHT’ video

Kenya’s top rapper Khaligraph Jones, popularly known as Papa Jones and Nigeria’s Afrobeat legend, Rudeboy, formerly of P-Square, have finally released the video to their hit song Tonight months after its celebrated audio release.

The song was a result of Coke Studio’s original song segment where the duo were paired up in the show’s 2019 season.

Papa Jones termed working with Rudeboy an honor because he is someone that has inspired his own music.

“I love music and I have a lot of respect for Rudeboy given his vast experience in the African music scene. When I was asked to cover his music I was a little apprehensive, mostly because I would not be rapping. However, the outcome was a dope track that exceeded my expectations and I thank my fans for urging me on, The video could not have come at a better time, the warm reception we have gotten from our fans is very encouraging taking into account that they have so many options across different genres and can compare us to our international counterparts. I am grateful to Coke Studio for understanding this and giving us the resources to shoot and deliver a great video.” said Khalighraph

The video lives up to the song’s theme, with a set up by the beach and in a club, leaving viewers excited to join in the party and be part of the fun.

What’s more intriguing is the seamless flow of the music considering the different genres of music they both sing, showing their undeniable talents and love for music.

Upon its release yesterday, the video already has 49,500 views, a clear indication that it’s indeed a hit song.

The duo was paired up during episode two of Coke Studio Africa 2019 with Rudeboy doing a cover of Khaligraph’s song ‘Kasayole’ and the O.G getting out of his comfort zone to give a sentimental spin of Rudeboy’s song ‘Reality’.

‘Tonight’ was produced by renowned producer Magic Mike who made his debut on this year’s Coke Studio.
