Kiambu Residents Break Into Song and Dance As Nyoro is Sworn In


A section of Kiambu residents broke into song and dance immediately after Former Rockefeller Foundation, Africa Region Managing Director James Nyoro was sworn.

The residents who included Kiambu County employees danced citing a the start of a new era.

Nyoro was sworn in just a day after the Senate voted to impeach former Governor Ferdinand Waititu..

High Court judge John Onyiego presided over the ceremony at the Kiambu Headquarters, a ceremony that was attended by key Kieleweka legislators Maina Kamanda, Gathoni Wamuchumba, nominated MP Isaac Mwaura and Kiambu Senator Kimani Wa Matangi.

The ceremony was postponed on Thursday after after presiding judge John Onyiego cited an illegality.

The judge had on Thursday said the county committee on assumption of governor’s office had not followed the law regarding the exercise.
