An NGO in Kibra slums has promised scholarships to KCPE candidates who will attain more than 350 marks.
CKF-Africa however says that they will not only focus on the marks only to award the scholarships but they will also look at the candidates discipline background.
Joshua Omweno Educational Director of CKF-Africa says that , “as CKF-Africa formerly known as Carolina for Kibera, we are targeting to give scholarships to students who will score over 350 marks in their KCPE. We are not only targeting bright students but we will also consider their discipline background,” he said.
The scholarship program will cater for books, transport, personal effects mentorship programs and career development program.
“We also give mentorship programs to our children personal effects, transport for those who have challenges and also books. We are after those children,” said Omweno.
So far the organisation has already sponsored over 70 students who are benefiting from the program in Kibera alone.
The organization has also extended its program in other eight counties including Mombasa, Kiambu, Machakos, Kajado, Kisumu and Kilifi.
The organisation argues that educational stakeholders to work hard since education is the pillar of life. Since education is a basic need.
