10

Makina residents in Kibra slums have sounded an alarm over the high number of accidents happening along Lang’ata-Ngong Road Highway.

The residents claim that the newly constructed road is causing accidents in the area daily.

“I’m Prosper  Amalemba a resident of Kichinjio area in Makina Kibera, and we usually witness road accidents daily on this high way that links Ngong Road and Lang’ata.’  said Amalemba.

According to Amalemba School going children are the most affected by the accidents.

He says that most of the motorists who have caused the accidents by dangerous driving always flee the scenes.

“Majority of those people who  usually get involved in road accidents are school children and no action is taken since the driver usually run away,” added prosper.

They are now appealing on the government to erect road bumps to reduce the number of accidents.

“Careless driving from bodaboda operators and lack of bumps on the road is the main cause of the accident.’
