Kibera youths have applauded President William Ruto for launching affordable housing in the area.

Speaking at  Kibera green Meeting that was held at DC ground, the youths said that the move will deactivate the political rift that has been in the area.

“I’m Yakub  Jafar Yakub AKA Taliban founder of Kibera green and Lindi SACCO. We have all assembled here to thank the president for launching the Kibera and Langata housing projects.  Political parties had made a great rift between us youths but now we will be walking together,” said Yakub.

According to Yakub KAZI mtaani that was abolished by the president benefited only a few leaders.

“KAZI mtaani only benefited our leaders.  Not common youths because for ladies they had to sleep with the bosses for them to be considered.  For men you had to be of a certain political party for you to get the job. It only benefited ODM followers,” added Yakub.

The youths requested the president to launch more projects in Kibera for youths to benefit, vowing not  to follow political parties.

“As a youth leader I would like to call our president to launch more projects on the area for us to benefit. And we are not going to support any political party. We will do our work as youths,” remarked another youth.

More than 1000 youths will benefit from the project that was launched in Kibera.
