Kibwana Ditches Azimio, To Join Ruto’s Legal Team

Outgoing Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has ditched Azimio La Umoja for President elect William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza.

Kibwana was received by Ruto at his Karen Residence. He is apparently set to join Ruto’s legal team in the presidential petition.

“We associate with the leadership that Professor Kivutha Kibwana has manifested in agreeing to work with us in furthering our country’s development agenda,” said Ruto.

“The Makueni Governor will join the Kenya Kwanza legal team in the ongoing presidential election petition,” he said.

Kibwana was succeeded by Mutula Kilonzo Junior who won on a Wiper Party ticket.

Before the August 9 elections, Kibwana had expressed his discomfort in working with Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka in the same coalition.
