As Building bridges rallies gain momentum in the country Tanga Tanga and Kieleweka Members of the county Assembly Nairobi have openly differed on who is to steer the initiative in the capital.
Yesterday former majority leader who doubles up as Matopeni Member of the county assembly Abdi Guyo together with his crew declared that they are now supporting BBI and are ready to steam the popular initiative in the City.
This move has angered the BBI committee led by Makongeni MCA Peter Jateso Imwatok who accused Guyo of being a hypocrite who only follows what Tanga Tanga ‘general’ deputy presidents William Ruto says.
According to Imwatok BBI team is intact and is led by Nairobi Speaker Beatrice Elachi, Maina Kamanda ,Johnson Sakaja and current leadership of Nairobi county assembly which includes majority leaders and whips.
‘‘We are aware that Guyo and other Tangatanga MCAs in Nairobi met Ruto on this issue and now they want to hijack the process in Nairobi, we want to tell them to stick to Tangatanga politics and BBI shall not allow such theatrics.’’ Imwatok said.
Those perceived to be Tangatanga MCAs, are Guyo,Ngara MCA Chege Mwaura,Peter Warutere of Roy Sambu, Nominated MCA Sylvia Museiya,Waithera Chege among others.
BBI mega rally is slated for 26th February in Nairobi City county which is the country’ capital.
Meanwhile ODM chief Raila Odinga today met Mount Kenya leaders ahead of the Central Kenya BBI rally scheduled for next month.
Raila met Senators Irungu Kangata (Muranga), Mwangi Githiomi (Nyandarua), Isaac Mwaura, Ephraim Maina (Nyeri) at the Radisson Blue Hotel in Nairobi.
During the talks, Raila extended an olive branch to Tanga Tanga MPs allied to Deputy President William Ruto saying they are free to attend the rallies.
