Kisii DG Joash Maangi’s vehicle torched by irate mob
Police in Narok South sub-county are investigating an incident where the official vehicle of Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi was torched by an irate mob after it was involved in a road accident that killed two people last evening.
The area Deputy Police Commander Magdaline Chebet says that the vehicle was travelling from Kisii to Nairobi when it hit a middle aged man and his eight year old child.
The two were riding on a motorbike at Lumumba area on Narok-Bomet Highway.
“The vehicle was coming from Bomet towards Narok and on reaching a place known as Tegero, there was a motorcycle joining the main road from a feeder road from the right side of the road… as a result of this, the accident occurred,” said Chebet.
According to Chebet, the two died on the spot.
