Kisumu All Starlets Coach Juma Said has urged sponsors to come and aid women’s footballers.

The team was recently relegated from the Football Kenya Federation Women’s Premier League (FKFWPL) having struggled because of lack of funds.

On Sunday they finished 4th in the Fkf Cup third and 4th playoff match going down 3-1 against Kibra Queens.

“The tournament has been great but as usual we had a lot of challenges and we weren’t sure were going to honor this match because we had no means of travelling,’ he lamented.

Ulinzi Starlets successfully defended their title after defeating Nakuru City Queens 3-1 in the second edition of the FKF Women’s Cup at Nyayo Stadium on June 4, 2023.

Said called on the federation to consider the team’s financial situation while arranging the fixtures saying that they travelled long distances to play in the tournament.

“Our campaign was a bit tiresome and expensive since we travelled a lot, we started the first game away in Mombasa then we moved to kitale and finally to Nakuru for the semi-finals hence we exhausted our funds,” he continued.

Despite the setbacks the coach said that they will go back to the drawing board and reclaim their spot in the Premier League.
