Kisumu Politicians Urged To Shun Politics Of Insults

Kisumu County Deputy Governor Mathew Owili has called for peace among politicians vying for peace in the 2022 General elections.

Owili has asked those vying for the various seats including the governor’s seat to sell their manifestos and shun insults on the incumbent governor.

“I want to use this opportunity to challenge who are vying for  positions in Kisumu especially those vying for governor’s position, they need to demonstrate some level of maturity by  telling people of Kisumu what they intend to do,” said Owili.

While addressing the press, Owili stated that voters are more interested in their manifestos and not the name callings.

“Let them tell us what they intend to do when they get into the office. What we have seen so far are insults directed at the incumbent, use of languages which are not civic, some are beating drums of war and we are saying at this time, in 2022 as a region, we are optimistic in getting presidency hence it is time we did our politics differently,” added Dr. Owili

Former Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma and Kisumu Senator Fred Outa are among the politicians who have expressed interest in the Kisumu Governor’s seat.
