A section of Kisumu residents and traders are now calling on the government to conduct mass Covid -19 tests to help in controlling the spread of the deadly Indian Covid-19 Variant.

This follows yesterday’s announcement by the Ministry of Health that five cases of the Indian variant was detected in Kisumu County.

The resident want the government to carry massive test and those who interacted with the five Indian Nationals to be quarantined to curb the spread.

“Since this virus is here with us, let the government conduct mass testing and ensuring those who interacted with the five are quarantined. With that we are sure the action will tame the spread of this new variant hence save the lives of our people,” says James Onyango.
They further requested the general public to be cautious and follow the Ministry of Health guidelines on Covid-19.

” Let’s not fear but what am pleading with the general public to do is. Lets always put on our masks properly, wash our hand regularly and more so lets adhere to all Ministry of health guidelines,” added Alphonce Obongo.
