More than 4000 Kenyatta National Hospital employees today started a go-slow to protest Salaries and Renumeration Commission’s failure to review their salaries.
The workers marched all the way from the hospital to the SRC’s office hoping that their grievances will be heard.
Services at the hospital were however not affected.
“We are not on strike today, what we are doing is what is allowed within the law that is called picketing. So we are exercising our mandate,” said one worker.
The workers claimed that the picketing was happening after SRC refused to implement the salaries as advised by the State Corporation advisory committee.
“We are doing this because we have reached a point where we cannot be able to function properly in this institution because of the issue of SRC where they do not want to implement the salaries as advised by the relevant authorities,” said another worker.
The workers however gave the SRC until Sunday mid night to effect the salaries failure to which they start their strike.
