Kobe Bryant’s gold and purple No. 24 jersey from 2007-08 season is up for grabs. The Los Angeles Lakers shirt is expected to be sold for $5million to $7million.
The amount is equivalent to Ksh 617,500,000 – Ksh 867,300,000.
Legend Bryant won MVP that season as he made way to the NBA Finals.
Bryant, who was killed alongside his daughter Gianna and seven others in a helicopter crash in January 2020, was instrumental in the Los Angeles Lakers reaching the Western Conference NBA Finals as the No. 1 seed in 2008.
The NBA legend’s gold and purple No. 24 shirt from that impressive campaign is now going on sale.
The iconic top will appear in Sotheby’s online auction called Zenith, Part I and is set to fetch between $5million and $7m.
Bryant scored a whopping 645 points in six playoff, 14 regular season and five preseason games in the jersey that’s up for grabs.
He nailed a 3-pointer in Game 2 of the Western Conference series with the Denver Nuggets on April 23, 2008 and his celebration in the fourth quarter was a memorable moment. The Boston Celtics went on to beat Bryant and the Lakers in the Finals.
The 2007-08 season jersey is set to beat a previous piece of Bryant’s reminders with his shirt from 1996-97 going for $3.7m.
The shirt is on sale between February 2nd -9th with other sports souvenirs, including items involving NFL star Tom Brady, basketball icon Michael Jordan and tennis legend Roger Federer available.
