Koch Residents Decry Rising Cases Of Insecurity

Residents of Korokocho area are decrying the rising cases of insecurity cases in the recent past.

The residents claim that they are experiencing cases of killings and muggings by unknown thugs in the area.

Antony Ngure a resident in the area says that the cases of insecurity started to rise after Kenya Power reportedly took a transformer to service it after it was vandalized.

“We have not had power in Korokocho, Highridge area since Friday last week so thugs have taken advantage of the situation and are mugging and killing people,” said Ngure.

Ngure is further lamenting saying that the killings are happening right near the police station.

“The response from police in Korogocho is also poor, some people have been found dead just a stone’s throw way from police post’’, Antony says

Pamela a vegetable vendor in the area has called for swift action and deal with the organized gangs.

“There are several unsolved insecurity cases in Korogocho area, but the security organs in area should take the suspected criminals through a professional counseling session and also consider giving the youths capital to start businesses,” she said.
