Kothbiro: second round kicks off
Round 2 of the Annual Kothbiro Football tournament kicked off on a very high note on Wednesday 30th November.
The defending champions A1000 Street this time round lost to Borrusia with an 87th goal courtesy of Gideon Abuchiri.
With the tables being turned on A1000, Borussia still needs to draw in their next game against Nyoi FC in order to guarantee a slot in the round of 16.
A1000 led by Mathare United’s Eric Mata on the other end need to win or draw their next game to qualify for round of 16.
Later on in the afternoon Nyoi FC were on the verge of elimination when they took on Lebanon and Mark Kwasika scored a superb goal for Lebanon, 25 minutes into the game.
Lebanon put up a spirited fight but towards the dying minutes of the match Ramadhan Otiato scored a superb volley to save the star studded Nyoi FC which the goal keeper tried to save but had already crossed the line.
Lebanon fans thronged the grounds and attacked the Referee, resulting in the match being abandoned.
As per the laid down rules, Nyoi Fc were awarded 3 points and 2 goals.
