The county government of Nairobi has set aside Ksh 1.5 billion to compensate county workers who  are set to go for compulsory retirement.

According to  governor Mike Sonko his government is not retiring  aged workers  without their righful retirement benefits as alleged in section of media reports.

The county has so far  advertised for over 700 posts for the fresh bloods  to be recruited as city marshals, fire fighters and environmental attendants.

County government has also confessed difficulties in paying  workers salaries following court orders obtained by political enemies barring him from accessing county accounts.

He  was speaking when flagging off county sports  team to represent Nairobi City County  in counties games in Machakos.
